10 Random Facts About Me

February 5, 2008

The Virus has tagged me. And I have conceded to his demands. I’m not really a fan of these memes but hey, the dude’s a legend in his own right. Plus, he’s a genius. Hence, I accede. The objective is to list 10 weird / random facts / habits / goals about yourself.

1. My bed is a bunk. More popularly known as a “double deck”. I had my parents buy that for me even though nobody sleeps at the bottom bunk. I just like sleeping on an elevated platform. It’s a dream come true, I tell you. : )img87/1682/spongebob1ng5.jpg

2. I still watch cartoons. Thanks to having two kid sisters who adores Kim Possible, Winnie the Pooh and Sponge Bob Squarepants, I am now adept with the ways of Disney Channel and the philosophies of Nickelodeon. Truth be told, I prefer the good ol’ Road Runner, Yogi Bear and Looney Toons shows. But hey, with those princesses ruling all television sets in the house on weekends, who am I to object?

3. I can write and speak French. I studied French for 3 years back in college. But my language skills en francais are far from fluent. I doubt if a French 2nd grader would even understand my incoherent mumblings of their native tongue. Pardonez-moi.

4. I have to eat at least 6 full meals a day. Yes, most of the time, with rice. But despite my diet, I am able to maintain a “fit” figure. You see, I have this lightning fast metabolism. My body just consumes everything I eat and doesn’t even bother to store unnecessary fat. Lots of people envy me for this. Believe me, it’s not easy as you think.

img145/8262/astronautbv4.gif5. Just like any other kid in the late 80s and early 90s, I wanted to become an astronaut when I grow up. Now that I’m all grown up, I still want to be an astronaut. Never stop dreaming!!!

6. Contrary to popular belief that I intentionally had a scar done on my right eyebrow to make me look “cool”, it was actually from an accident that required a few stitches to heal. I fell down a flight of stairs when I was a seven years old. The wound was so big the doctors had to close it surgically. The affected eyebrow hairs never grew back.

7. I love history. I read history books as if they were the latest installment of Harry Potter. I love going to museums as much as I enjoy going to Enchanted Kingdom. And I love watching National Geographic Specials on historical issues as much as I love watching Heroes and CSI. Back in college, I would stay for hours in the library reading history books and the like. Nerd me. How I wish I could go back to Paris and roam the halls of the Louvre a few more times!

8. I’m a frustrated rockstar. I’ve always believed I can sing like Lifehouse or Nickelback or the Goo Goo Dolls. Nobody believes me still.

9. img186/7717/witscoffeeyu3.jpgEven though I look angry most of the time, I’m not. (My eyebrows naturally meet hence I look angry and snobbish). I’m actually a friendly guy (says me) who enjoys conversations as much as any person who likes talking and listening.. May it be intellectual discussions or pointless blabberings. So if you see me walking around looking like I was about to punch someone’s lights out, please remind me to smile. Thanks!

10. I love coffee. (Don’t we all?) One of my future business endeavors has something to do with a drink-all-you-can coffee buffet. It will feature all sorts of coffee from different parts of the globe including some homemade caffeine concoctions. It will be awesome!

I don’t tag. Everybody who reads this site knows that. I’m a rebel like that. : )
Sorry Virus.

Wow, thanks for doing the tag Witsmeister. Just like you I love history. Was supposed to take up history in UP but figured I might as well go to another college where I will be considered upstanding. Hahaha.

I also still watch cartoons to tell you frankly, when the kids are not with me, I still find myself surfing Disney Channel, Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network.

Anyway, thanks for doing the tag, though I know you were quite uncomfortable with it and for that I say “Merci”. hehehe

@virus: True. If there weren’t so much discrimination when it comes to college degrees, I’d probably have shifted to History myself. Hmm… a second degree would be nice, eh?
De rien Monsieur Virus.

Well, was thinking of doing another masters degree. Maybe towards a psychological field. Though, I did see that UP is offering a Phd on Philosophical Economics. Caught my attention but I don’t think I have it me to study again. I figured, we can always read history anyway. I remember I used to read our encyclopedia from vol 1 to 30. hehehe okay geeky side showing.

Oh well, we shall see.

@virus: hahaha! i understand. In my case it was reading the 5-disk E-encyclopedias. But personally, I prefer the big books. Well, we are geniuses for loving history.

History is one of the most useful things out there. It’s such a big power move when you are able to talk a lot about some person/place/thing/event most people know very little about. We all should have at least a good grasp of our local history. Everyone is part of it. : )

Unlike virus, I don’t ever need to read an encyclopedia, because my brother already read all of them and any time I need the 411 on anything, I ask him. Yeah, for once, I am lucky.

And I still watch cartoons, but mostly the old ones, like Tom and Jerry (I friggin’ LOVE the Cat Concerto episode!) and Road Runner.

And I do have a scar on my left eyebrow, because I fought with a cat when I was young. Haha

everyone at school calls me notorious because of my scar!
